Annotatsiya

With more than three-quarters of the world’s chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) cases occurring in low- and middle-income countries, addressing this chronic disease represents a major and growing challenge for health systems. Without targeted population-based interventions, health system reforms, and adequate funding in these regions, achieving a significant reduction in the global burden of COPD may be difficult. Clinical and epidemiological studies show that bronchial obstruction associated with bronchial asthma and COPD is widespread among populations of different age groups, while its detection rate varies across regions. Therefore, interest in these diseases as a priority area of scientific research is increasing every year. Early detection of chronic bronchial obstructive diseases and comorbid conditions makes it possible to provide appropriate preventive care to the population at the prenosological stage. The prioritization of this scientific topic and the conduct of research in this area require the optimization of modern epidemiological, prenosological, and preventive technologies. According to research, the number of COPD cases worldwide among people aged 25 years and older is expected to increase by 23% from 2020 to 2050, reaching nearly 600 million people by 2050. The increasing burden of COPD is projected to be greatest among women and in low- and middle-income regions.
