The article considers the role of the Uzbek language in the system of world languages. The changes taking place in the terminological systems of various fields, the terms included in the sciences of physics, chemistry, history and philology, the patterns of their acquisition, achievements and shortcomings in this regardwere discussed, as well as com- mentswere given on the newly acquired terms. Based on them, opinions about the present and future of the Uzbek languageare presented.
