Annotatsiya

In this article, more than 36 articles were analyzed; my colleagues and I gave the basic concepts on the use of stromal/stem cells in age-related macular degeneration. Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a degenerative eyedisease that affects millions of people worldwide, causing significant vision loss and disability. Current treatments for AMD, such as anticonvulsant endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) therapy, aim to slow the progression of the disease but are not able to fully restore vision. Consequently, there is growing interest in exploring the potential of stem cells to treat AMD. Stem cells have the unique ability to differentiate into various cell types, including retinal cells, making them an attractive candidate for regenerative medicine in the field of ophthalmology. Various sources of stem cells have been investigated, including embryonic stem cells, induced pluripotent stem cells, and adult stem cells derived from various tissues.
