The dynamic development of high-tech crime, characterized by a cross-border nature and using information technology, necessitates the introduction of innovative biometric technologies in criminalistics. Based on the study of the opinions of scientists and law enforcement practice, the article reveals the concept of criminalistic innovations. In addition, certain aspects of the use of biometric identification as an innovation in criminalistics are discussed in the work. The author analyzes statistical indicators, highlights the current state and prospects for the use of innovative biometric identification technologies in the detection and investigation of crimes in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
