The importance of digital expertise in the light of the adoption of amendments to the administrative and criminal legislation of responsibility for the dissemination of false information, including in the media, telecommunications networks or the Internet, which led to the humiliation of a person’s dignity or discrediting a person is considered in the article. The concepts of electronic (virtual) footprints, issues resolved by experts in the production of digital expertise are revealed.
