This article discusses the formation of speech breathing in preschool stuttering children, its role in speech activity, and the features of the disorders observed in neurotic and neurotic forms of stuttering. The inextricable link between speech breathing and phonation, articulation, and prosodic components, and its gradual development in the process of ontogenesis are analyzed based on scientific sources. Also, the violation of breathing and phonation coordination, breath holding, additional breathing, paradoxical breathing movements, and factors affecting the rhythm and fluency of speech in stuttering children are described. The article discusses the importance of developing speech breathing in the correction of stuttering, the effectiveness of speech therapy exercises and relaxation methods, especially the possibilities of using A.N. Strelnikova's paradoxical breathing exercises. The formation of speech breathing is considered an important factor in enabling stuttering children to engage in free communication, ensuring the rhythmic and intonational integrity of speech, and stabilizing their psychoemotional state.
