Annotatsiya

This work presents the results of the synthesis and comprehensive investigation of superparamagnetic magnetite–alginate nanocomposites (Fe₃O₄/Alg) obtained by the method of co-precipitation followed by calcium-induced ionic crosslinking. The formation of the composite structure and preservation of the crystalline magnetite phase were confirmed by FTIR spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis. Electron microscopy studies demonstrated a uniform distribution of Fe₃O₄ nanoparticles with sizes below 10–15 nm within the alginate matrix, as well as suppression of magnetically induced aggregation. The scientific novelty of the study lies in establishing the relationship between the structural organization of the alginate matrix and the stabilization of superparamagnetic magnetite nanoparticles, ensuring simultaneous preservation of the magnetic properties, phase purity of Fe₃O₄, and high functional availability of alginate carboxylate groups. It was shown that the composite is formed according to the "crystalline magnetic core–amorphous polymer shell" model, creating favorable conditions for the selective binding of heavy metal ions. The obtained solid Fe₃O₄/Alg composite can be considered as a promising magnetically controlled sorbent for the removal of various pollutants from aqueous media.
