The study examined morphological and morphometric changes in peripheral lymph nodes of 12-month-old outbred white rats with experimental rheumatoid arthritis. The total lymph node diameter, thickness of cortical and paracortical zones, number and size of lymphoid follicles, proportion of germinal centers, as well as medullary and stromal parameters were determined and statistically analyzed. The study demonstrates that experimental rheumatoid arthritis leads to pronounced structural alterations in lymph nodes, reflected by modifications in the relative distribution of lymphoid and stromal compartments.
