A total of 90 children aged 3–7 years with cognitive disorders, including those with speech development delay, were examined. Increased levels of interleukin-6 (IL-6) were found to correlate with the severity of cognitive dysfunction and disruption of neuronal connectivity. The findings indicate that IL-6 serves as an important biomarker of neuroinflammatory activity in children with cognitive impairment.
