This article mainly tries to reveal the economic aspect of foreign direct investment. It basically reveals the policy of the host countries towards foreign investment so far, through the classical, dependency and medium road theories, as well as the recent widespread use of the medium road theory by countries around the world.As a result of the birth of a new generation of bilateral investment agreements, developed and capital-exporting countries are pursuing policies that incorporate elements of classical theory, in contrast to the flexible investment policies of host countries, and developing countries' domestic industrial growth is insufficient. It is shown by examples that investment policy is not unprofitable
