This article examines the issues of improving the process of teaching technical methods to young handball players and of assessing their level of technical preparedness on the basis of pedagogical monitoring. In the course of the research, the level of mastery of technical actions by the handball players was determined before and after the study with the help of special tests. The effectiveness of the set of exercises recommended during the training process was assessed on the basis of mathematical and statistical analysis. The results obtained showed that the indicators of technical preparedness of the young handball players improved significantly. The research results are of practical importance for planning the training process and for monitoring technical preparedness.
