This article provides methodological recommendations on organising a practical class in the subject 'Native Language' for first-year students studying in the field of Primary Education at pedagogical institutes. Guidance is given on differentiating learning tasks, in particular on the correct use of questions, assignments and exercises. Exercises and assignments directed at distinguishing phonetics from phonology and at a better understanding of the speech apparatus, as well as test assignments for consolidating knowledge, are presented.
