This article sets out the place of the preschool education system in the formation and development of creative abilities in preschool-age children, together with its psychological and pedagogical features. In the course of the study it is substantiated, on the basis of scientific sources, that abilities such as creative thinking, imagination and fantasy develop most actively precisely between the ages of 3 and 6. The modern approaches applied in preschool educational institutions are analysed: project-based teaching, non-traditional methods, free creative activity, and methods of encouraging creativity in children through role-playing and dramatic games. The effectiveness of the reforms and practical experience being carried out in the field of preschool education in Uzbekistan in developing creative potential is also shown with examples. The article contains useful scientific and practical recommendations for teachers, psychologists and parents.
