Currently, school education is one of the priorities for the development of the education system as a whole. In this article, based on the norms of the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the analysis of various events in the field of school education, problems in the field of public education and ways to solve them were analyzed. The authors point out that despite the existing achievements in the field of education in general, public education has a number of problems. Especially today, in the era of the information boom, almost regularly on social networks you can see messages or materials about the problems of education in schools. Among them there are both temporary (transition to distance education, changes in legislation) and systemic (attitude towards teachers in society, socio-economic problems) problems. According to the results of the article, it is indicated that when improving the educational process and pedagogical skills, it is necessary to strengthen and intensify the activities of the Research Institute for the Study of Problems and Determining the Prospects of Public Education named after A. Avloni. The authors also proposed a number of measures to improve the quality of public education in the Republic of Uzbekistan, in particular, the formation of a respectful attitude towards teachers in society, the prevention of encroachments on the honor and dignity of teachers, the transition to a National curriculum aimed at improving the quality of education and the use of a creative approach, the use of best practices in organizing the educational process in Presidential, creative and specialized schools for all other schools in the republic.
