Annotatsiya

In the modern globalized world, learning more than one foreign language has become an important educational and professional need. Although many learners believe that studying two languages at the same time may cause confusion, recent research in bilingualism, multilingualism, and third language acquisition suggests that simultaneous language learning can be beneficial when it is organized through clear strategies. This article explores how learning two languages at the same time supports multilingual competence. Drawing on the works of Cenoz, Jessner, Hufeisen, Cook, García, Cummins, Bialystok, Kroll, and other scholars, the paper discusses the cognitive, linguistic, cultural, and educational benefits of simultaneous language learning. It also examines practical strategies such as language separation, contrastive comparison, spaced repetition, translanguaging, skill-based planning, and reflective learning. The article argues that simultaneous language learning should not be viewed only as a difficult task, but as a meaningful process that develops metalinguistic awareness, cognitive flexibility, intercultural understanding, and learner autonomy.
