Annotatsiya

Postmodernism in literature represents a radical shift from traditional narrative forms and epistemological assumptions about truth, meaning, and authorship. Emerging in the mid-twentieth century, it challenges the foundations of modernist thought by embracing fragmentation, intertextuality, metafiction, and skepticism toward universal narratives. This paper examines the defining features of postmodern literature integrating theoretical insights from major scholars such as Jean-François Lyotard, Roland Barthes, Jacques Derrida, and Umberto Eco.
