This article examines the main theories of children's psychological development within the framework of classical and modern scientific approaches. It analyzes the views of representatives of classical psychology as well as contemporary concepts that reflect new trends in the study of child development. Particular attention is paid to the comparative analysis of cognitive, behaviorist, psychoanalytic, and sociocultural approaches. Their strengths and weaknesses are highlighted, along with their applicability in modern educational and psychological practice. The article emphasizes the need for integrating various theoretical approaches for a deeper understanding of the patterns of children's psychological development.
