The article examines the issue of the formation of professional identity among young women as an important component of personal and social development. Based on theoretical approaches to understanding identity (psychological, sociological, and gender- based), the study analyzes the characteristics of women's professional self-determination in contemporary society. Particular attention is paid to the influence of gender stereotypes, traditional social roles, and value orientations on the process of forming professional identity. The interrelation between a woman's individuality and her realization in various spheres of life—professional, educational, and family—is explored. The presence of a role conflict between the pursuit of self-realization and socially conditioned expectations is emphasized. The article also analyzes the specific situation of women in Uzbekistan, including the impact of state policy aimed at ensuring gender equality and expanding educational and professional opportunities for women.
