Yusuf Khos Hajib’s work «Kutadgu Bilig» artistically reflects the reality and conditions of asceticism. The author’s views on the essence of asceticism, his images of the image of Ozgurmish are fully consistent with the verses and hadiths that describe the meaning of asceticism, as well as the truths of asceticism recorded by great sheikhs such as Imam Ghazali. Yusuf Khos Hajib relied on the original Islamic sources in elucidating the content of the ascetic issue and creating the image of the ascetic (Ozgurmish). Under the influence of the motif of asceticism and the ideas of asceticism, examples of asceticism or ascetic literature appeared in Turkish literature. The theme of asceticism and its motives occupy a special place in the history of our literature. He had a significant impact on the development of the entire Turkish literature, including the development of Uzbek classic literature. «Kutadgu Bilig» is noted as the first literary work in the history of our classical literature. A large part of this epic (almost half) is dedicated to the depiction of asceticism. The image of Ozgurmish has perfectly acquired the quality of asceticism, has risen to the status of an ascetic and has all the qualities that should be in an ascetic. The emergence of different opinions about conversion is actually related to the diversity of views about the essence of asceticism, the ranks of asceticism, and the types of asceticism. It is known that Yusuf Khos Hajib’s interpretations, relationships, inner world, educational status, desires and aspirations of Ozgurmish are depicted in the saga as a perfect ascetic.
