Ubaydi is a poet who wrote about 900 rubai. Makhdumi A’zam highly appreciated Ubaydi’s work and wrote a treatise on the poet’s rubai, titled «Shahri Rubaiati Ubaydi.» Rubai khazaj comes in the meter of axrab, makfuf, majbub. Khalil ibn Ahmad Farkhidi says that «Rubai is written on the akhrab and akhram of the khazaj bakhri».
