This article scientifically covers the economic content of border trade and industrial zones, their specific features and the need for their organization. Border trade and industrial zones are interpreted not as simple preferential territories, but as an institutional and economic mechanism that combines production, trade, logistics, customs services and territorial management. The study analyzes the geoeconomic location, infrastructure provision, the market of neighboring countries, local resource and labor potential, and the quality of institutional management that affect the formation of such zones.
