This article analyzes the experience of developed countries, particularly the European Union, in ensuring low-carbon economic development and implementing decarbonization policies. The study examines the main mechanisms applied in the European Union, including the Emissions Trading System (ETS), carbon taxes, the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), the development of renewable energy sources, and measures aimed at improving energy efficiency. In addition, the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan to accelerate decarbonization processes and their outcomes are assessed. Based on the experience of developed countries, the study proposes priority directions for ensuring low-carbon economic development in Uzbekistan, including the expansion of renewable energy sources, improvement of energy efficiency, decarbonization of industrial and transport sectors, development of green financing mechanisms, and the introduction of a national emissions trading system.
