The aim of the study was to perform a clinical and functional comparative evaluation of the scoring systems in the complex treatment of chronic periodontitis of moderate to severe severity. For this purpose, we examined and treated 45 patients (16 men and 29 women) aged 21 to 60 years. All patients were divided into 2 groups according to the degree of severity of generalized periodontitis (medium and severe), each of which in turn was divided into 2 subgroups according to the type of splinting - temporary and permanent. All patients underwent a study of the state of microcirculation in periodontal tissues using laser Doppler flowmetry.The examination was carried out before the complex treatment, immediately after the treatment, including temporary and permanent splinting and local active therapy, at 3 and 6 months. The combination of drug therapy with the methods of action on biologically active points suggested above allowed minimizing the number of prescribed medications, as well as the freguency their application. This led to the elimination of subjective and objective symptoms and extended the period of clinical remission of the disease.
