This article analyzes the processes of socio-economic adaptation of the population in the context of the modern city based on an anthropological approach. The study examines the occupational specialization of representatives of historical and ethnographic regions in major cities of Uzbekistan within specific economic sectors, as well as the ethno-cultural foundations of this process. In addition, ethnic enclaves and micro-spaces formed under conditions of migration and their role in social adaptation are scientifically analyzed. Particular attention is paid to the interaction between material and spiritual factors, as well as the formation of identity in the process of integration into urban society.
