In this article, the author conducts a historical analysis of various approaches to the study of the history of the Turkestan Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, which existed in 1918–1924 in the history of Uzbekistan’s statehood, as reflected in the literature of 1925–1950 (within the historiography of Uzbekistan). Furthermore, it is demonstrated that in the works of political figures of the 1920s devoted to issues of state policy, different approaches are presented regarding the formation and development of the Soviet ideological concept in the study of the history of the Turkestan ASSR within Uzbek historiography. Based on the analysis of literature produced in the 1940s–1950s (including monographs, dissertations, brochures, and other works), conceptual changes in the study of the history of the Turkestan ASSR have been identified.
