In this article, the author analyzes the history of the Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic of Turkestan that existed in 1918-1924 in the history of statehood of Uzbekistan from the perspective of historiography, in the literature created during the years of independence. Also, the available literature from 1991-2020 was divided into categories (monographs, dissertations, brochures, etc.), and these scientific studies were examined in problem areas. Conceptual changes in issues of the independence movement, the system of public administration (national personnel policy, political organizations and parties, activities of commissariats) and national territorial delimitation consisting of these problem areas are identified.
