This article explores the history of the formation of Uzbekistan’s highway infrastructure, specifically focusing on the stages of development during the 1950s-1970s and contemporary strategic reforms. The study examines the role of highways in the socio-economic development of Uzbekistan and the historical evolution of this sector. Based on archival documents and statistical data, the article analyzes the systemic formation of the road sector in the republic during the 1950s-1970s, the construction of new highways in connection with the reclamation of virgin and fallow lands, and transformations in the management system.
