This article, based on archival sources, provides a comprehensive analysis of the formation and development of geological science in Uzbekistan from 1929 to 2024. Specifically, it highlights the discovery of the Muruntau gold deposit, its geological structure, stages of development, and its strategic role in the country’s industry. It also examines the scientific contributions of Uzbek geologists and the genesis of gold and arsenic. The research findings reveal not only the historical and geological significance of the Muruntau deposit, but also its economic and social significance.
