This article describes the difficulties in attracting representatives of local nationalities to secondary specialized educational institutions (universities and technical schools) in the first years after the Second World War, especially the difficulties in attracting girls to the educational process, and the fact that during this period, as a result of parents marrying off their children before they reached puberty, Uzbek girls studying in secondary specialized educational institutions constituted a very small percentage of the total contingent of students, using the example of the contingent of students in secondary specialized educational institutions in Andijan, Namangan, and Kashkadarya regions. It is also based on evidence that the organization of secondary specialized and higher educational institutions in the Uzbek SSR, the specific aspects of their operation, the small number of secondary specialized and higher educational institutions in relation to the population density and number, and the failure to take into account the current demographic situation in admission quotas resulted in the fact that a large part of secondary school graduates were not attracted to secondary specialized and higher educational institutions.
