The article analyzes ethnographic elements reflected in one of the Karakalpak heroic epics — Koblan. In particular, it examines such motifs as childlessness, the miraculous birth of the hero, the sacred role of animals — the tiger and the wolf — as symbolic figures, as well as the depiction of the horse as the faithful companion and helper of the hero. The study is based on the works of various scholars, the text of Koblan, and the folklore heritage of other peoples for comparative analysis.
