This article is devoted to a brief history of the formation and activities of the Scientific Research Institute of Cotton Production, which later became an All-Union one. The purpose of this institute was to coordinate and direct scientific research in the field of cotton production throughout the Soviet Union. The Institute has contributed to increasе cotton production, improving its quality and introducing new technologies in cotton production. It was one of the first scientific research institutes in Central Asia, bringing together all scientific organizations dealing with cotton issues
