The article examines the commemoration cycles of the Karakalpaks as an important element of traditional ritual culture. The article analyzes the concept of memorial rituals as a process of gradual transition of the deceased to another world, carried out through certain cycles, such as the 3rd, 7th, 40th, 100th days and the anniversary of death. The study includes a comparative analysis of the Karakalpak funeral rites with the traditions of other Turkic peoples, such as Uzbeks, Kazakhs, Kyrgyz, Tajiks and Turkmens, which allows us to identify common features and differences in rituals. The study shows that memorial rituals are associated not only with the cult of ancestors, they are designed to alleviate the suffering of the deceased, and also reflect deep cultural beliefs about life and the afterlife.
