Annotatsiya

In the second half of the 19th century - the beginning of the 20th century, the Turkestan General Governorate bordered in the east - the Kulja (Ili) Sultanate, the Emirate of Yettishakhar, the Sin Empire, the Republic of China, in the south - the Emirate of Afghanistan, and in the southwest - Iran (Persian Kingdom). The General Governorate was always in military and political competition with these countries for various regions of Central Asia and paid serious attention to the protection of its borders. During the conflict of interests, the metropolis relied on the troops of the Turkestan Military District and tried to act on the basis of its superiority. The article describes the participation of the Turkestan Military District in military-political processes in the Ili region.
