В статье рассматриваются вопросы, связанные с экспедиционным, «кабинетным» и институциональным изучением трасс, городов, торговли, культуры и языков Шелкового пути учеными Дании, Швеции, Норвегии с конца ХIХ по первую четверть ХХI вв. Внимание акцентируется на различии теоретико-методологических подходов в изучении актуальных проблем истории Шелкового пути, актуальных направлениях работы скандинавских исследователей. формировании научных школ и академических центров.
