The article provides data that in order to accurately assess the learning outcomes of normative and qualitative results, it is necessary to use a certain form. This approach makes the assessment process timely and understandable. The learning assessment results should be transparent and convenient for students and teachers. Lectures, practical, as well as laboratory classes form the basis of the teaching activities of teachers and students. Today's educational process requires taking into account the requests of a possible employer. It is also necessary to take into account the changing conditions and approaches of civil society as a whole. Students often play a passive role in the learning process. Teachers often cannot provide a differentiated approach to learning activities. Underachieving students are identified only after lectures, by questioning or non-fulfillment of tasks set by the teacher. At this moment, the incompetence of the trainees is revealed, which does not meet modern educational requirements. In the course of the study, attention is drawn to the need to increase the level of study of educational disciplines among students. Their understanding of the development of design competencies (research, production and technological, design, experimental research skills, qualifications), i.e. R&D (research and development of experimental design developments) of future engineers.
