In the 1970s, the Sopolli culture of the Bronze Age (ca. 2200–1300 BCE), which developed in the Northern Bactria region, was studied scientifically based on historical and archaeological sources. The population of the Sopolli culture, in addition to agriculture and animal husbandry, was highly skilled in crafts. Among the crafts (pottery, carpentry, ironwork, etc.), jewelry making stood out with its unique types and forms.The bronze artifacts found at Sopolli culture sites, especially the ornaments, serve as an important material source for understanding the Bronze Age culture of Central Asia. They reflect the lifestyle, culture, art, and customs of the Bronze Age population.Besides the sites of Sopollitepa, Jarqoton, Mo‘lalitepa, Bostan VI, VII, and Tillabuloq, other types of ornaments (earrings, diadems, beads, necklaces, pendants, tumorous ornaments, rings, and bracelets) were also found. Typological analysis of these artifacts helps to study their nature more deeply and establish analogies.In this article, more than 140 ornaments intended for the head from Sopolli culture sites are classified into types, groups, and classes according to the shape of their head parts.
