Due to the climate and landscape of the Sokh Basin, people began to explore this area since the Stone Age.In the course of research in this area, many monuments from the Paleolithic to the late Middle Ages havebeen discovered. However, due to various factors, the number of such tangible cultural heritage sites hasdecreased, and their areas are being under development for various purposes. The construction of irrigationstructures in the valley area in the 1930s, the development of the hills after the 1950s, and the emergence ofother anthropogenic landscapes have had a major impact on the archaeological sites. Irreversible changes tothe landscape that have, in some cases, occurred at the expense of archaeological sites were caused by thedemographic growth in the valley, expansion of settlements, and associated infrastructure. This study examines the process of anthropogenic impact on monuments located in the Sokh Basin during aparticular time period. It is based on several methods, including comparative analysis of remote sensing datafrom different periods, field data, and information collected from local residents. This study also makes itpossible to determine what factors may result from the loss of archaeological sites.
