The experience of the Department of Chemistry of the Faculty of Physics and Chemistry of the Chirchik State Pedagogical Institute in the field of the formation of intellectual abilities of students in the study of chemistry is analyzed. Examples of specific activities in this direction in the process of teaching various chemical disciplines are shown. It was revealed that the combination of traditional laboratory studies and scientific mini-research contributes to the formation of intellectual abilities and allows to improve the quality of training of future chemist-teachers.
