This scientific article has established the development of such telecommunications as mass media, radio, television, and the Internet, which led to the emergence of a new institute along with the copyright institute – rights related to copyright. It was found out that if earlier artists-performers themselves determined and controlled their audience, there was no need for special legal protection of their interests, then with the advent and rapid development of radio, television, audio and video recording, material media and the Internet, the situation has changed. The relevance of the problem of international legal protection of related rights is proved. The author considered the features of the development of computer and Internet technologies in the context of the legal regulation of related rights.
