Study of the relative bond strength of f-, s- and d-electrons of rare-earth lanthanides

Annotatsiya

The relative bond strengths of various electronic configurations of rare earth elements are investigated. A general tendency of strengthening of the 4f-electron bond in comparison with the 5d-electron bond has been found. It is shown that the larger the charge of the nucleus, the stronger the bond of the 4f-electrons compared to the 5d-valence electrons, which have a large principal quantum number.
