Postoperative ventral hernia (PVH) is commonly observed in patients with obesity. Obesity contributes to increased intra-abdominal pressure, which in turn leads to the development of PVH. The choice of surgical staging and sequence in such patients is often a major challenge and remains a relevant clinical problem. A retrospective analysis of surgical treatment outcomes in 212 patients with obesity and PVH was conducted to identify factors associated with a complicated postoperative course following one-stage surgical treatment. The study demonstrated that the main predictors of complications were body mass index (BMI), duration of surgery, and the patient’s comorbid condition. There is a need to develop a unified prognostic model using statistical processing methods to simplify the application of all interrelated factors.
