The Biologically Oriented Preparation Technique (BOPT) is recognized in modern prosthetic dentistry as a conceptual approach based on the management of interactions between hard and soft tissues. This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the contemporary evolution of the BOPT technique, including a hybrid analog-digital workflow and the fully digital standardized protocol known as EasyBOPT (eBOPT), focusing on its clinical effectiveness, biological foundations, and practical applications. Studies demonstrate that the hybrid approach enables highly accurate recording of subgingival margins and complete transfer of the emergence profile, while the eBOPT protocol enhances the standardization of clinical procedures, reduces treatment time, and minimizes operator dependency, thereby significantly improving the reproducibility of the BOPT technique.
