FIBROLARYNGOSCOPIC MONITORING OF REACTIVE CHANGES IN THE POSTOPERATIVE AREA IN PATIENTS WITH BENIGN LARYNGEAL NEOPLASMS

Benign laryngeal neoplasms are among the most common diseases of the upper respiratory tract and are often accompanied by significant functional disorders of the vocal apparatus, reducing patients’ quality of life. Despite the high effectiveness of modern endolaryngeal surgical methods, the postoperative period is frequently characterized by the development of reactive changes in the surgical area. This article presents an analysis of 84 patients with benign laryngeal neoplasms. The patients were divided into groups depending on the surgical method used: conventional, radiofrequency, and laser techniques. The severity of reactive changes was assessed using fibrolaryngoscopy on postoperative days 3, 5, 7, and 14, as well as after 1 and 6 months. The maximum severity of inflammatory and reactive changes was observed on the third postoperative day in all groups. The most rapid reduction of edema, hyperemia, and mucosal infiltration was noted in patients operated on using semiconductor laser technology. The obtained results indicate the high effectiveness of laser technology, providing faster restoration of the mucous membrane and functional recovery of the vocal folds.
