Purpose of the study. Improving the results of surgical treatment of pulmonary echinococcosis. Material and research methods. The study included the results of treatment of 207 patients with pulmonary echinococcosis. Research results. Among the 98 patients in the comparison group, 111 surgical interventions were performed. Among 109 patients of the main group, 127 surgical interventions were performed (18 patients with damage to both lungs). In patients in the comparison group, the Bobrov-Spasokukotsky, Vishnevsky and Vakhidov capitonnage methods were most often used. In the main group of patients, atypical lung resection, ideal echinococcectomy and total pericystectomy were performed using a cavitation ultrasonic aspirator dissector (SONOCA 300). In addition, in the main group of patients with open echinococcectomy, the residual cavity was eliminated using the method we developed. Conclusions. The introduction of modern technologies into the surgical practice of pulmonary echinococcosis and the elimination of the residual cavity using a modified method has improved the quality of care provided by reducing the frequency of immediate postoperative complications from 13.5% to 2.4% and relapse of the disease from 9.3% to 1.4%.
