Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) and metabolic disorders represent some of the most significant problems of modern public health, affecting the quality and length of life of millions of people worldwide. This review article examines the principal mechanisms linking metabolic disorders and CVDs, as well as the role of genetic factors, including polymorphisms of various genes, in the pathogenesis of these diseases. At present, the combined influence of genetic and environmental factors on the development of CVDs is being actively investigated. The study of genetic markers, such as PPARG gene polymorphism, is of great importance for understanding the pathogenesis of these diseases and may contribute to the development of new methods of diagnosis and treatment.
