This article provides a comparative analysis of the main features of Japanese science fiction (SF) literature and world (mainly Western) SF literature. The study examines such factors as themes, hero images, scientific ideas, educational content, national mentality, and the reflection of technology. The results show that Japanese SF literature focuses more on the balance between technology-society-ethics, while world SF literature emphasizes scientific discovery, space exploration, and social problems.
