Annotatsiya

This article presents a comparative analysis of face-related idiomatic expressions in English and Uzbek, exploring both cognitive similarities and cultural differences. While Uzbek idioms emphasize collective honor and social responsibility, English idioms focus more on individual accountability. The study examines the historical and cultural influences that have shaped these idioms and analyzes their significance in communication. Additionally, it explores regional variations, demonstrating how local customs impact the use of face-related expressions in both languages. By employing cognitive semantic theory, this research aims to explain the conceptual motivations behind these idioms and their implications for cross-cultural communication.
