The article is devoted to the peculiarities of national legislation regulating migration relations in various countries. It analyzes the level of consolidation and stability of migration legislation in countries with Anglo-Saxon and Romano-German legal systems. The migration policies, legislative norms, and measures to combat illegal migration in countries such as the USA, Canada, Germany, and Sweden are examined. Additionally, issues of criminal liability for illegal migration in Japan, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom are analyzed. The article provides conclusions and recommendations for improving national migration legislation based on the study of foreign experiences.
