In this article, the author analyzes international legal documents relating to the rights of labor migrants, gives a classification of universal international agreements, subdividing them into universal documents providing for the basic and universally recognized rights of labor migrants and universal documents that directly regulate labor migration relations, also considers international treaties relating to rights of labor migrants adopted within the framework of specialized organizations, including the International Labor Organization. It is concluded that at the global level the rights of migrant workers are widely covered in documents, being enshrined in many international legal acts, however, due to low ratification by members of the international community, the effectiveness of global migration rules in protecting migrant workers is extremely limited.
