In the context of the globalization of financial flows and the rise of transnational crime, combating money laundering and terrorist financing (AML/CFT) has become strategically important for ensuring national and international security. This article presents the conceptual foundations of the international AML/CFT system, analyzes the main provisions of the updated FATF Recommendations, and examines institutional and legal mechanisms applied in different countries. Special attention is given to the experience of the United Kingdom as one of the most advanced and comprehensive national examples of implementing international AML/CFT standards. Based on the UK experience, conclusions and practical recommendations are offered for countries with developing AML/CFT systems.
